Led by young people
Capital was an idea developed with young people, and it’s led with young people. Nearly half of the Board of Trustees are under 21. They sit equally making decisions with qualified teachers, professional musicians, and parents.
Non-profit charity
We believe in breaking down barriers. That’s why Capital doesn’t charge young people or families to play. Organisations and individuals donate funding and instruments. Every penny donated to Capital goes towards its work with young people.
Building confidence
Our Capital Mentors scheme pairs Youth Concert Band teenagers with the younger players. Guided by our professional adults, they build skills coaching, gain academic credit, and give the younger players great role models.
